Four plans run from RDP Starter (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 60 GB SSD, €12.09/mo) to RDP Business (8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, €93.49/mo), each with Windows Server 2022 or 2025, one dedicated IPv4 address, unmetered traffic and 100 Gbps always-on DDoS protection (L3/L4), in Ashburn, Virginia. The Windows licence is not included: the server installs Microsoft’s evaluation edition, and you activate it with your own Windows Server key within 180 days.

Remote desktop for small teams
One Windows desktop the team signs in to from anywhere. Shared files, line-of-business tools and browser sessions live on the server, so a lost laptop loses nothing and a new hire signs in to a desktop that is already set up.
Trading platforms and bots, 24/7
MetaTrader terminals, Expert Advisors and Windows trading software keep running when your own PC is switched off. The server does not sleep, and its IP address does not change when your ISP reconnects.
Windows-only business apps
Accounting packages, ERP and CRM clients and older line-of-business software that will only ever run on Windows. Install once as Administrator and the whole office reaches the same copy.
QA and testing boxes
A Windows machine for testing installers, browsers and builds, or for hosting an automation agent. When a test leaves it in a mess, reinstall from the client panel and start clean.

The plan price is the server: compute, storage, IP addresses, traffic and DDoS protection. It does not include a Windows Server licence or RDS CALs.
Whether a key may be used on a hosted server depends on how it was bought. The Microsoft reseller who sold it can confirm.

The server installs the evaluation edition
Every plan installs Microsoft’s Windows Server evaluation image, 2022 or 2025, Standard with Desktop Experience. It is the full product and works without restrictions for 180 days.

You convert it with your own product key
Enter a Windows Server Standard key you own. An evaluation install is converted to the full edition with DISM, which takes one restart:

No key, and it expires
If the evaluation is not converted within 180 days, Windows reports the licence as expired and starts shutting the server down at intervals. Activate before then.
RDP security hardening checklist.
An RDP port on a public IP address is found by automated scanners soon after it goes online. Five settings to make on day one, all of them yours to control as Administrator.
Keep Network Level Authentication on
NLA makes a client prove its credentials before Windows builds a session, so an anonymous connection never gets as far as a desktop. It is on by default; leave it on.

Use a long, unique Administrator password
Administrator is the first account name every RDP scanner tries. Use 16 or more random characters from a password manager, and give each person who signs in an account of their own.
Lost it? Reset it from the client panel.
Allow port 3389 only from addresses you know
Scope the Remote Desktop firewall rule to your office and home IP addresses, or reach the server through a VPN, so the rest of the internet cannot reach the logon at all.

Move RDP off the default portOptional
A non-standard port cuts the noise from automated scans in your logs. It does not protect the server by itself, so do it on top of the steps above, and open the new port in the firewall before you restart.

Leave Windows Update on
Fixes for Remote Desktop vulnerabilities arrive through Windows Update. Set active hours so restarts land outside your working or trading hours, rather than switching updates off.

The included DDoS protection filters floods aimed at the network. It does not stop someone guessing passwords on an open RDP port; the checklist above does most of that work.

Every Windows RDP server runs in our Ashburn site in Equinix DC6, on the US East Coast. Windows RDP is not sold in any other location, and the server and its data are held in the United States, under US law.
If Windows has to run inside the EU, Windows Server 2022 and 2025 are install options on our dedicated servers in Europe. Routes differ from one network to the next, so check the path from the United States to your office or broker in the Looking Glass before you commit.
