Looking glass: test the network before you rent a server.

A free web tool that runs ping, traceroute and MTR from the servers in our data centres to any public IP address or hostname. It shows the latency and the network path you would get from a voxa.host server before you rent one.

Every location listed in the tool. The list comes live from our servers: a location shows while one of its machines can run tests and drops out during maintenance until it is back.

Tests run from servers already in the same data centre, so the route and latency are what a new server in that location will see. The exact numbers for your own server can differ slightly with its port and IP range.

Any public IPv4 or IPv6 address, or a hostname that resolves to one. Private, reserved and internal ranges such as 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16 or localhost are refused, and hops inside private networks are shown as [private].

Yes. Each visitor gets a few tests per minute and a fixed number per hour, and every target has its own limit so the tool cannot be aimed at one address from all locations at once. Each test is short: five pings, a 30-hop traceroute or 10 MTR cycles.

No. Ping, traceroute and MTR measure latency, packet loss and routing, not throughput. The port speed of every dedicated server and VPS plan is listed on its product page.
