Hetzner Alternatives
Hetzner is the price benchmark in European hosting and deserves that reputation. The honest question is not whether we are cheaper — at the entry level we are not — but whether their model fits what you are building.
Hetzner's dedicated range is built on consumer and prosumer silicon in high volume. At the time of writing the AX41 (Ryzen 5 3600, 64 GB, 2× 512 GB NVMe) lists at €59/month with no setup fee, and the AX42 (Ryzen 7 PRO 8700GE, 64 GB ECC) at €99/month plus a €49 setup fee. Nothing in our range competes with that on absolute price, and we are not going to claim otherwise.
Where the model diverges is in shape. Those are fast single-socket machines with six to eight modern cores — excellent for a workload that wants clock speed, limited for one that wants many cores or a lot of ECC memory. Our entry Dual Xeon E5-2630 v3 is €209/month for 16 cores, 32 threads and 128 GB of registered ECC, which is a different machine for a different job.
The other differences are structural. Hetzner charges a one-time setup fee on most dedicated models (€304 on the 48-core AX162), keeps its dedicated servers in Germany and Finland, tops out at 86 cores, and does not apply its unlimited-traffic policy to servers with the 10G uplink add-on. We charge no setup fee, sell dedicated servers in eleven countries across Europe and the US, run to 256 cores and 1 TB of DDR5 in one chassis, and apply no traffic threshold on the listed port speed. Hetzner raised prices on 1 April 2026, existing customers included, and again for new orders on 15 June 2026.

Where Hetzner is the better choice
No point pretending otherwise.
- Absolute price at the entry level. €59/month for a six-core AX41 with 64 GB and NVMe, with no setup fee, is exceptional value and we do not match it.
- Single-thread performance — recent desktop-class silicon clocks far higher than the E5 v4 generation.
- A mature, well-documented cloud product alongside the dedicated range.
- Long track record and a large, active community with answers to most operational questions.

The reasons people switch.
No setup fee
Most Hetzner dedicated models carry a one-time setup fee, for example €49 on the AX42, €304 on the 48-core AX162 and €459 on the 86-core DX294. Our servers have none, on any configuration.
Eleven countries including the US
Hetzner concentrates on Germany and Finland. If you need Romania, Spain, Bulgaria or the US East Coast, that is a hard constraint rather than a preference.
Dual-socket and high-core options
Our range runs to 256 cores and 1 TB of DDR5. Hetzner's largest dedicated server by core count, the DX294, has 86 cores.
Registered ECC memory as standard
Every configuration ships with ECC. Some Hetzner consumer-silicon lines do not.
KVM VPS alongside bare metal

The short answer
If you want the cheapest fast single-socket box in Germany, buy the Hetzner. Come to us when you need many cores, ECC memory, a location Hetzner does not serve, or a machine with no setup fee and no traffic threshold.

Is voxa.host cheaper than Hetzner?
Not for entry-level servers: Hetzner's €59 AX41 is the benchmark there. At high core counts it reverses per core. Hetzner's largest dedicated server by core count, the DX294, has 86 cores and 256 GB (configurable to 512 GB) for €919/month plus a €459 setup fee, about €10.69 per core; our Dual EPYC 9554 has 128 cores and 512 GB for €959/month with no setup fee, €7.49 per core.
Why would I pay €209 when Hetzner's AX41 is €59?
Because they are different machines. The AX41 is a six-core desktop-class Ryzen with 64 GB of non-ECC memory in Germany or Finland. The €209 configuration is 16 cores, 32 threads and 128 GB of registered ECC, available in eleven countries. If the AX41 does your job, buy it.
Does Hetzner limit bandwidth?
Traffic on Hetzner's standard 1 Gbit uplink is unlimited, but Hetzner states that its unlimited-traffic policy does not apply to servers with the 10G uplink add-on. Our listed port speeds carry no traffic threshold.
Can I get Hetzner-style hourly billing?
On our VPS range, yes — billing runs from €0.0063/hour and is capped at the monthly price, so an always-on server never costs more than the monthly rate. Dedicated servers are billed monthly.
